Wow. Well, I guess I was right in feeling apprehension about keeping updated...it's been over a month. I'm really bad at this, huh?
But, Lindsey's been moving (into her first house!), and I've been helping. So, she hasn't barely had a chance to do anything, much less blog, so I'm not that worried about it. Also, she has her own closet (a very large closet, mind you) just for yarn. I'm so jealous...in the nicest possible way, of course.
I got my Ravelry invite in the meantime though. I LOVE it. It's so convenient, and whenever I get bored, I go look on the forums or something. I have my stash online, along with all of my projects and my needles. It's simply amazing. But what I like best about it is that it keeps me knitting. I tend to fall into ruts where I don't like to even think about knitting (for some strange reason), but Ravelry has really helped keep me passionate.
So, I'm actually getting holiday knitting done! Whoo!
I'm knitting a scarf for DH's best friend Bobby. It's black ribbed with two grey stripes at the bottom. The black is 50% llama, 50% wool. I've never knit with llama before and I love it! I really like the stitch definition.
Also, I've been knitting my mother some washcloths.
In other news, I bought my first pair of Addi needles and I have to say I'm impressed. I thought, "Really, how much better can they be?" and then absolutely flew through a washcloth. So, I'm a convert. I hope to get more for Christmas. :D
Ok, that's all for now. Hopefully I can keep up with this now...

Brittany's Introduction
So I've been toying with the idea of starting a knitting blog for a long time, but for some reason felt slightly apprehensive about it. So, Lindsey and I decided to do one together. I thought about it, and I think I was worried about the pressure of keeping up with a knitting blog. But then I realized with another person, it wouldn't be so bad, and it might actually serve as a motivator.
I'm still a beginning Knitter, but I have knit more than just a few scarves. (But, oh, how I love scarves.) I plan to show a few of the things I've knit here in the next couple of days, and hopefully Lindsey can introduce herself as well. I haven't done a sweater or anything too complicated, and I'm just learning how to read patterns. However, I've noticed that in knitting, if it looks hard, it usually isn't.
Take cables, for instance.
I always thought cables were really interesting, really beautiful, and thus would be extremely hard to make....nuh-uh.
I taught myself from pictures in the handy-dandy Stitch 'N Bitch. And then said, "Wait, that's it?"
Or with learning on double pointed needles. Same thing.
So...an introduction. I'm married, and my husband is a bigger dork than I am. And I love him for it. He doesn't knit, but is incredibly supportive. It might be due to the fact that I love offering to knit him things, like the infamous Jayne hat from Firefly. But, he does take me yarn shopping and actually thought it was a good idea that I go back to Hobby Lobby for a few more sets of needles since all Susan Bates was 50% off.
I am an English Knitter, but am trying to learn Continental.
I usually prefer metal or aluminum needles, except when working with cotton. I like bamboo for that.
You also might be surprised to know that I don't have that much of a stash. Like I said, I'm still relatively new to this, but I usually have a project in mind, buy the yarn for it, and then knit it. That's just how I am. But mine is slowly building. Oh yes. Hopefully I be able to put up some pictures of the wooly and cottony goodnes.
I usually prefer more "winter" colors when it comes to buying yarn. I love greens and (some) blues. I'm getting more into deep purples (Thanks to Lindsey), but I avoid pastels like the plague. My favorite color right now is turquoise, and my favorite colors together are a soft (yet vibrant) blue with brown.
Also, I'm a bit of a fiber snob. If acrylic works for you, I think that's really great. Novelty yarn like Touch Me? You go right ahead. But, I would much rather work with natural fibers like wool, cotton, whatever. My absolute favorite is alpaca. Mmmmmm, how I love the alpaca. But seriously, it's not that I think they're inferior necessarily, it's just I prefer natural fibers to synthetic ones. And this is a recent development. However, I do have acrylic in my stash, and I'm ok with that.
I've actually started to think about this when it comes to purchasing clothing, too. Before I started knitting, I wasn't really thinking about the materials that I put on my body. But, I digress.
So, I'll give the floor to Lindsey.
